How does the A.D.S. work?
Answer: The A.D.S. is a passive device that, when properly
mounted, functions simply by opening and closing the door. When the door
is closed, the contact wheel fully engages the stainless steel strike plate
which forces the entire length of the A.D.S. (including the fixed rubber gasket)
to lower to the doorsill. Upon opening the door, the geometry of the
piece, with the aid of two stainless steel coil springs, causes the weather
stripping to retract up into the housing. Do-it-yourself installation is
simple with common household tools. Easy-to-follow instructions with
marked ruler and trimming templates are included. All mounting hardware is also
included for each unit.
Can I mount the Door Sweep on either
the inside or outside of my door?
Answer: Yes. You can mount it on either
side. Use the supplied stainless steel oval strike plate for exterior mounting.
Place it on the door jamb as shown in the supplied instruction sheet. Use
the supplied rectangular stainless steel strike plate for mounting on the
interior side as shown in the instruction sheet as well. The contact
roller wheel will engage the flange on the rectangular strike plate.
How do I determine which side is the
interior or exterior for doors inside my house?
Answer: The side with the hinges would be
considered the interior side.
Is there a better side to mount the
A.D.S. onto?
Answer: Yes. We recommend that you mount
it on the EXTERIOR side of the door.
Can I mount the A.D.S. on either a
left or right hung door?
Answer: Yes. The product is
"double-handed" and can be mounted on either side.
Can I use the A.D.S. for doors
longer than 36"?
Answer: No. The A.D.S. can be used for
doors up to 36". The ADS can be trimmed at any point from 24" to
36". The shortest door A.D.S. works for is 24".
What is the maximum size gap at the
bottom of my door that the A.D.S. will block?
Answer: 13/16" or a little greater than
¾".
Can I paint the cover plate?
Answer: Yes. You can paint the white A.D.S.
You will need to use OIL BASED paint.
Does
the ADS come with all of the mounting hardware?
Answer: Yes. Supplied with every unit is the complete
mounting hardware necessary to mount the ADS to any wood, metal or fiberglass
door.
Can I mount the A.D.S. on any type
of door, wood, metal or fiberglass?
Answer: Yes. The A.D.S. supplied mounting
kit comes with sheet metal screws that will "bite" into any door to
secure the dynamic member to the bottom of the door.

the A.D.S. for 10 years.
